I felt that way about my 1986 Isuzu Trooper II LS

Incredible SUV. The back seats folded back flat and headrests re-positioned so it could easily be converted in seconds to a sleeping cabin. I could reconfigure the seats to create a huge empty box interior for hauling crap. 5-spd with two incredible 4WD gears. Mine was a 2-Door and perfect for my young kids at the time. I literally could fly them into their carseats from the side window.
Under powered for sure 2.3ltr 4cyl, but this vehicle was a cat in 4wd. I ended up getting about 150K out of it before the engine started bleeding oil. I ended up selling it to my brother for a dollar. He ran it for another 3 years on his power company trips to the wilds of WVA before the engine blew for good. He ended up using the expansive cab as a doghouse for his two hounds for another five years.
